Trek through the Paradise

Sri Lanka's is blessed with a range of terrains that provide great opportunities for trekking and hiking. It is full of lush paddy fields, swaying tea plantations, spice gardens, dense forests and waterfalls. They send an open invitation to every trekking enthusiast to take back the unique experience of walking close to the beauty of nature.  

Trekking in Kandy Kandy offers numerous treks, the place being full of medieval Buddhist temples have interlinking footpaths that make trekking easy and scenic. The trek usually begins from Ihalakotte Railway station till Dodanwala Devale shrine passing through the forest reserves. Other options can be Alagalla Mountain, tea estates and traditional Kandyan villages. Popular trails to choose from are Hanthana hike, Alagalla Mountain trail, Bahirawakanda hill and Udawattakelle Forest Reserve.  

Knuckles Mountain Range The mountain range of Knuckles, shaped like a human fist covers a border of 234 sq km between the Kandy and Matale. It comprises of 35 mountain peaks that rise over 915 m, thus offering the most charming trekking and hiking sites. While trekking one has to be careful of leeches.

Belihul Oya Belihul Oya links the wet zone and dry zone of Sri Lanka. It is home to the highest biodiversity in Sri Lanka; with spectacular sceneries all over. Trekkers can choose from a wide range of trekking trails over the hills, thus passing by the jungles and paddy fields.

Reach the top of Bamarakanda Falls A trek to the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka, need 8 hours of footwork to climb an altitude of 1790 meters.  The misty falls cascades through the lush green highland mountains. At the summit, there is another small waterfall with a large pool surrounded by picturesque background.

Nuwara Eliya Twin city of Kandy, it offers immensely picturesque tea estates for the famous Ceylon Tea. These beautiful terrains are great for trekking. Climbing the Adams’ Peak is also a wonderful adventure.

Sinharaja Rainforest The rainforest consists of ridges, valleys and mountain peaks with a plethora of trails through the tumbling waterfalls and streams for hiking and trekking. Get acquainted with the vast fauna and flora of which, many are endemic.
