Ravana FallsOne of the widest waterfalls in the country, Ravana Falls forms a part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary. It cascades from 25 meters (82ft) and was named after Ravana - the Demon King of epic Ramayana. As per legend, this is the place where Ravana has hidden Sita after kidnapping her. Today, known as Ravana Ella Cave, this place shows human habitation that would date back to 25,000 years.

Adisham MonasteryAdisham is one of the last 18 monasteries in the world belonging to Sylvestrines Congregation. It is a sub-order of the Benedictine fraternity, founded in the 13th century.  The monastery is dedicated to the tea planter Sir Thomas Lester Villiers. While here, visit a small shop that sells home produces from the monastery’s gardens and orchards.

Little Adam’s Peak Climb the Adam peak up to 1141 meter, as it offers breath-taking views of an endless valley, tea plantations and waterfalls. A great opportunity for photography enthusiasts.

Dowa Temple Towards the east of the Bandarawela town, Dowa Temple can be easily identified by the four meter high standing Buddha cut into the rock face. Walls of the adjoining cave shrine are carved from solid rock. They are covered with Buddhist murals. As per legend, it has a secret underground tunnel inside the temple that stretches all the way to Kandy.

Tangamalai Bird SantuaryA bird sanctuary and nature reserve, Tangamalai is home to blue magpies, paradise flycatchers, green barbets, golden orioles and a host of other bird life. The famous Benedictine Monastery of Adisham borders this sanctuary.

Tours to the Tea Factories Sri Lanka is famous for its Ceylon Tea that has earned an international reputation. Several factories can be visited while on a tour; some of them are Mlesna Tea Centre, Dambatenne Tea Factory and the Lanka Tea Centre.
